Excellent stuff. Already knew about the pinky break, double undercut & overhand shuffle, but the
clarification of the 'milking action' with the three cards was a new addition. The Braue reversal &
pinky shot are new to me, and top-to-bottom double undercut was, as well. Eric's take kn the
fouble-lift is very clean. Then havng it all put together into a mini routine is the tasty icing on
this particular piece of (free!) cake!
Thanks for this freebie, Penguinos! I guess I'll
need to pick up a copy of that book...wait! What's that, right there on my bookshelf? (Sighs &
reaches for [as-yet-unperused] copy of Royal Road To Card Magic)
Time to study.

Alarmingly good. A very excellent primer with moves and then a routine and good tips throughout.
Really well done.

Erik is a great teacher! In this video Erik teaches his favorite card sleights. These card sleights
are easy enough for beginners and can provide a solid foundation in card handling. As he teaches
these sleights, Erik builds upon the beginners skills, culminating in a routine where 3 cards are
selected, lost in the deck and produced using a combination of these sleights. Erik gives you a
solid routine which you could use in your act.
Even if you think you have mad card skills,
Erik may give you a few tips and tricks you weren't aware of. Learn from a magician that has

Having been a hobbyist for over 50 years, it’s nice to go back to the very beginning. There is
always something new to learn as the saying goes. It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks.. Erik
Tait has also taught this old dog something new. Hopefully this teaching presentation will encourage
the youth to carry on this wonderful hobby of Magic. Nice job, Eric.

I really enjoyed the video. Basic Magic but a must to learn if you want to perform card sleights.
The Penguin Production on videos is also great
Erik is a really good teacher and you can see
his obvious professional card chops
Loved how he tied all the moves taught into one cool routine
really good.
Really like these FREE Videos every time I watch one it helps make my day.
I have been doing magic since I was 8, I am 61 now on every video I have watch on the free
Downloads I have learned stuff.
Thank you very much for making them available. Would love to see
the Penguin go on tour again.....they were great.

I was an avid card magician many years ago, but haven’t performed a decades. My granddaughter is
learning magic and I wanted to refresh my memory. These are basic sleights and easy to do. They are
explained very well and the videos are helpful. So I would recommend them with our reservation

All are great. Great teacher/instructor.
This is a great way to get started! I will add that some of the sleights are a little more
sophisticated than what I think of as a beginner (like me). Those will require more practice (which
you should be doing, right?), and it would help to acquire some additional basic skills. But if you
are a determined magician, you're going to have to learn all of these anyway. Might as well get to
it. (Tons of YouTube videos.)
I love the pinky shot flourish! But it could use a little
explanation that if your hands are cold and/or dry, you may have trouble sliding the single card
down as demonstrated. In that case, something like SortKwik might be helpful.
Kudos to Eric
for mentioning that we should use these methods to develop our own original magic. He's a good
presenter.
I knew a couple of these ahead of time, even though, I had a lot of fun with the others. Highly
recommend not only for beginners, but for a way back to some of the basics we all started with.
Great for beginners entering intermediate level magic!
