Magick Thoughts on Believable Film Footage, Virtual Worlds, Sansar and Second Life.

What I am about to share with you got me thinking about things that are just outside my grasp. Its about how our mind works and how we believe things that are so outlandish and surreal but so well done that your brain says… “Thats real? Can it be?” then against your better judgement you are in the believing process against your will.

I found this by shear accident while I was searching for videos about carousels of France. I watched it by myself and was mesmerized and captured. I brought my family in to see it. We laughed and said it looks like something in Harry Potter. What some of it reminded me of was the Whomping Willow Tree.

Then I began to think about the believability of film footage and how our mind works. Then I started thinking about virtual worlds and Sansar. On the one hand film footage might not be as exciting and believable in a virtual world as it is in real life and on the other hand what about Sansar? Can believable footage be integrated into the next generation of virtual reality?

What would this mean for photographers inside virtual worlds like Second Life like me and Sansar? Can you imagine the possibilities with photography and machinima?
